ASP model 100 Identifier Pink Police Handcuffs

This is the old polymer overmold ASP model 100 identifier handcuffs in pink.

They consist of a thin but strong steel skeleton with pink ordnance-grade strong polymer molded over them. They have the yellow single pawl mechanism.

Like all ASP handcuffs they have nice quality of life and safety features such as a flat wrist contact point for application, smooth operation, double locking via the window or the keyway, a single turn disengages the double lock and the single lock and all the surfaces are smooth to reduce the chance of injury.

This is an older model, which came out in the early 2000s and was eventually discontinued when they came out with their Ultra Cuffs, which were made of aluminium to address some issues.

What issues did the model 100 have? Well, because of their bendiness the bow could over-shoot the cuff body and not engage with the pawl, giving a false sense of having applied them to the wrist. Also of an officer fell over onto the cuffs during a struggle with a suspect, the double strand could crimp together and render the cuffs inoperable. The Ultra Cuffs addressed these issues by making the body from solid aluminium.

Being pink in this case, they are fitting for use during breast cancer awareness month (October) and coloured models like this also for officer personalisation, as well as correctional use to denote risk levels and health conditions of inmates etc.

These are really nice and sought after by people for less than law enforcement uses... because of how colourful they are. Since the whole body of the cuff is covered in the polymer, you get a nice brightly coloured handcuff that has less coldness to it, which is in particular more attractive for uses in the bedroom I would imagine!

All in all, they are great NIJ rated legitimate law enforcement handcuffs of the past. Very comfortable and secure when applied properly. All ASP handcuffs can be easily picked and shimmed, which means it's important for LEO use, that suspects are properly searched to deny them access to keys and picking tools.

Peerless Pink 750C American Police Handcuffs Often used during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

These are the Peerless 750C or specifically 750CP handcuffs in Pink. Genuine USA all-American handcuffs that are used throughout the states as one of the top brands of NIJ certified law enforcement handcuffs.

These are a classic model 750C with pink colour finish. They have one pawl bar, peg and groove bow security, double locking, they backload (backloading is not that important and not a common feature).

Coloured handcuffs are often used in prisons and jails to coordinate with inmate uniforms or to classify someone with a health condition or a certain threat level etc. Also in some cases, non-masculine colour uniforms and handcuff colours have been used in prisons on overly aggressive prisoners as a punishment.

Another use for Pink, specifically, is during October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. There was a US news story of Smith & Wesson and Peerless donating a bunch of pink handcuffs to a police department free and then the department let their officers BUY those handcuffs from the police department and then they gave that money they raised to the cancer charity.

Also some officers use different colour cuffs in the US as a way to personalise and get their own cuffs back so they don't get swapped around with other officers etc.

UZI Pink Handcuffs Model UZI-HC-C-PINK (High class toys, not professional grade, but decent!)

These are the classic pink UZI handcuffs. Model number UZI-HC-C-PINK.

These are what I would call a high class toy. They are a good quality product, though the tolerances are not very good (bow alignment, as you'll see on the video). They do not have mirrored sides, so that means one keyhole is front and one is back when they are placed down on the wrists. This is a common trait with eastern handcuffs, which does not always mean bad quality, but it is annoying. It means they cheaped out using the same handcuff design for both bracelets rather than making a left and a right bracelet.

They have a decent amount of strength and solidity to them, so as a toy, they are very very good indeed. They do not have the peg and groove system for the bow, meaning a very strong person could pull outwards and pull the bow teeth away from the pawl teeth and free them selves. Which is why, given that there is not enough metal for the required strength to mitigate this, they are not professional grade handcuffs.

They take a standard key, which is always good if anyone is wanting handcuffs for "messing about with". Whether that me in the bedroom or for cops and robbers games or whatever it might be. Standard keys working in a cuff means more options to get out if you are stuck (picking them, police helping you out etc).

Let's talk pink handcuffs in general for a moment. I showed a comparison during this video of what people typically will find then looking for pink handcuffs. Flimsy, sharp as hell edges, absolute garbage quality cuffs (I am hesitant to even call them handcuffs they are that bad) with fur on. Now, if you really have your heart set on having fury handcuffs, I would suggest either you make your own fur tubes from material, or buy a garbage cheap paid of those fluffy fury pink handcuffs and take the fur off and put them on a decent or really good pair of handcuffs. I show this in the video. That way you get a decent quality, more trustworthy handcuff while still having the fluffy aspect you might be looking for.

All in all, not too bad handcuffs, as long as you don't want them for professional or occupational use. If you want a good pink pair for genuine on-the-job use, get a pair of pink Chicago 1000 handcuffs. A video will be linked in the cards ( i ) at the top right of this video.

Kyung Chang KCH 010 Lightweight Korean Police Pink Handcuffs [NIJ]

These are the Kyung Chang Lightweight KCH 010 handcuffs in pink colour.

They are a South Korean police grade handcuff which are very lightweight. They have 3 pawls, steel bows, aluminium / aluminum body and come with 2 special keys which are best suited for these handcuffs.

Normal "standard" universal handcuff keys work in these handcuffs HOWEVER, it is crucially important that you get to know which way to turn for the double lock and if you use a standard key, STOP TURNING as soon as you have disengaged the double lock. If you keep turning that same direction after you have disengaged the double lock, the key will be stuck and you will be trapped in the handcuffs. Kyung Chang handcuffs are very nice, however please do be careful if you end up using different keys in them... The keys they come with are perfect and you have nothing to worry about, but do not be the person on a 999 or 911 recording asking for help because you got trapped in handcuffs using an ill-suited key! That kind of video would go public, be shared and stay with you forever and everyone would know. Not a good image!

🚨🔗 Chicago Model 1000 Pink Genuine Police Handcuffs (not cheapo toys)

These are police handcuffs from the Chicago brand. Model 1000. These are in pink, as they are the only Chicago standard riveted handcuffs I could acquire in the UK.

People use pink handcuffs either to annoy criminal guys or in solidarity with Breast Cancer. So if you like to donate to causes, there's an idea for you.

These are police grade, though I am unable to ascertain if they have NIJ status at this time. They have all the usual security requirements like double locking, ditches in the single strand jaw etc.

They are made in Taiwan but are clearly quality checked by Chicago (owned by the handcuff warehouse in the US) because they are even nicer quality than UZI handcuffs in my opinion...

They have a dual double locking bar, making properly double locked handcuffs a bit harder to pick open to escape. And they have 2 pawl bars like UZI which also adds some extra security.

Over all, they are very good, cheap (in the US...) police handcuffs. They come in various colours including standard silver, though being in the UK these pink ones were the only ones I could obtain at this time.

Comparing Quality & Security of The cheapest handcuffs In 3 Quality Brackets

A video comparing quality and security of the cheapest handcuffs I could get in 3 different brackets, ranging from garbage, ok, good.

The first black pair of garbage single locking metal "toy" handcuffs cost about £4.

The second pair, the pink ones, are of medium/ok quality and cost about £9.

The last black pair are GOOD quality, genuine Spanish police handcuffs and cost about £23

The first handcuffs are single locking only, which makes them unsafe, even for children because if someone falls over while wearing them, their wrists could get crushed when the handcuffs get tighter immediately. Plus the metal is thin and would cut into them easier than thicker handcuffs. Also as far as security, the chain link swivels are total trash and the chain links are not welded so could be pulled open with some average adult strength.

The grade that the pink handcuffs came in was, I would say decent. They are double locking, although the double lock is not as definitive when engaging as many other better models of handcuffs. The metal is thicker and I was unable to bend the double strand with my fingers, which is good. Although there are no ditches in the rotating arm. The purpose of ditched "jaws" (as they are referred to) is to ensure that someone who is very strong, cannot pull outwards and pull the teeth of the "jaw" away from the teeth on the pawl bars on the inside of the handcuff. These pink ones lack that feature. So they are an averagely good non-professional model of handcuff that should be safer to use for people. Normal handcuff keys cannot be guaranteed to work with the pink handcuffs because they lack a larger internal space between the two cheek plates, so you need smaller keys. But you get 2 keys with them.

The last pair are a genuine black pair of Spanish Alcyon handcuffs. They are made with thick carbon hardened steel and can make use of normal handcuff keys. They have ditched jaws for higher security from strong people, the swivels are strong, On chain link versions the chain links are welded for strength, while this model I have has a "universal joint" which has a bit more resiliency than a chain link model. These also have 2 pawl bars, that is 2 sets of teeth on the inside of the handcuff for extra security.

So I leave this to you to decide if you buy handcuffs what you want to spend your money on. I recommend you buy as good of a quality as you can afford, for the purposes you need them for. I do not recommend young children use metal handcuffs of any kind and for more mature children, make sure they have a real pair and know how to use the double locking mechanism.
